RH Rooftop Restaurant Offers More Than Just Food And Drinks

It’s 5 o’clock on a Friday, and you’re getting ready to leave work for an early start to the weekend. A glass of rosé and a cheese plate shared among friends sounds like the ideal happy hour. Or, perhaps it’s morning, and there’s time to squeeze in a cappuccino and pastry before a meeting downtown. Where to go? RH West Palm, The Gallery at CityPlace and its rooftop restaurant.
Chances are by now you’ve caught a glimpse of the design-driven space gracing Okeechobee Boulevard where a parking lot used to be. You know the one—the four-story mansion with the eye-catching contemporary art installation on the façade with artist RETNA’s signature hieroglyphic style. Past the conversation starter outside, what awaits inside is even more luxurious.
“To me, Palm Beach has always been about a sense of glamour and luxury, a place everyone aspires to be a part of like the Hamptons, Aspen, Beverly Hills or the Napa Valley,” says RH Chairman and CEO Gary Friedman. “We’re all intrigued to know what’s behind the majestic gates, or lush green hedges that surround the beautiful estates. Our gallery on Okeechobee was built to retain that sense of allure, to spark our imagination while being inspired by the glamour of the past, and the innovative spirit of the present.”
Go ahead and admire the 80,000-square-foot gallery filled with grandiose home furnishings and three floors of design inspiration from bedrooms to baths, plus outdoor patios and private gardens with doorways welcoming in a refreshing breeze. Ascend another floor and arrive at the rooftop restaurant looking out on downtown West Palm Beach.
Elegant chandeliers, olive trees, 12-foot Moroccan tile wall fountains—it’s an Instagram-worthy dining destination with Instagram-worthy plates to match.
Choose between dining options including the Wine Vault, the Barista Bar and the ultra-chic main dining room under a glass atrium. RH Hospitality President Brendan Sodikoff, who also is the founder, CEO and creative director of Hogsalt Hospitality in Chicago, worked with Friedman to bring the restaurant concept inside RH West Palm (there are only three RHs in the world that offer one). This location is inspired by the Chicago gallery restaurant located in the historic Three Arts Building.
Order cold-pressed juices, teas and coffees to accompany a selection of seasonally driven dishes including breakfast bites like pastries, scrambles, toast and jams. There are boards (artisanal prosciutto or Délice de Bourgogne cheese, anyone?) plus truffled grilled cheese, chilled stone crab with Dijonnaise and slow-roasted chicken. If you stop by for one thing, make it the house-made chocolate chip cookies or the fresh doughnuts served warm.
Friedman welcomes guests to order a bottle of wine and find a comfy spot on any level or at the outdoor seating area. The gathering space is meant to be lived in—nothing is “off limits.”
