CityPlace And Hilton West Palm Beach Announce The Return Of District Fit To The Palm Beaches

Three-day wellness festival will bring together healthy lifestyle, nutrition and fitness experiences from October 19-21

West Palm Beach, Fla (June 18, 2018) – CityPlace and Hilton West Palm Beach have joined forces to announce the second edition of District Fit, a multidisciplinary fitness festival focused on mindful movement and physical fitness, taking place October 19 – 21.

As an initiative that builds on the missions of both CityPlace and Hilton West Palm Beach to enhance the health and wellness of community residents and visitors, District Fit offers an invigorating three-days of mind, body and soul experiences taking place in the heart of downtown.

“People at any age can benefit from leading a healthier lifestyle, and if we continue to expose them to healthy choices from exercise to eating and mindful practices, it can create a lasting impact,” said John Parkinson, general manager at Hilton West Palm Beach and co-host of the event. “We fundamentally believe this at Hilton and focus on enabling our team members to live their best lives through our corporate-wide wellbeing initiative, Thrive@Hilton. Putting this into practice within our communities through events such as District Fit, unites people who want to experience healthy lifestyles alongside one another.”

District Fit will feature a lineup of more than 15 free sweat-inducing workouts led by elite trainers and fitness gurus, holistic seminars, nutrition workshops, culinary events, live entertainment and more than 25 pop-up retail experiences, all converging in West Palm Beach, recently named the second healthiest city in the country by Trulia.  A few highlight experiences include:

  • Farm to Hilton: A Vegan Dinner in collaboration with Adam Lipson of VeganApproved will kick off the festival on Thursday, October 18, at Hilton West Palm Beach
  • Nighttime Glow PJ Party at Hilton West Palm Beach highlighting sleep practices, relaxation methods and rejuvenation techniques including a Zeel massage station, crystal healing, essential oil bar, guided imagery experience and live music

  • Meditation Class inside Culture Lab surrounded by prominent art, sound installations and interactive hammocks made out of recycled materials

Additional events and experiences will be announced leading up to the event.

“We’re fortunate that South Florida offers an environment well suited for living a healthy lifestyle year-round, which is why we’re committed to creating engaging wellness initiatives throughout our downtown West Palm Beach properties,” said Gopal Rajegowda, senior vice president of Related Companies, owner of Hilton West Palm Beach. “With the ease of connectivity of West Palm to Fort Lauderdale and Miami via the Brightline train, it’s easier than ever for our community to come together during District Fit, and we look forward expanding the fitness, education, and nutritional experiences in this next iteration.”

Strategically planned to coincide with Breast Cancer Awareness Month in partnership with the American Cancer Society and Discover the Palm Beaches’ Spa & Wellness month, all events will be open to the public. Additionally, some classes will collect donations to directly support Palm Beach County families and community organizations in the fight against cancer.
