Related Cos. completes RH furniture gallery at CityPlace West Palm Beach By Brian Bandell The Related Cos. has completed a 80,000-square- foot furniture gallery for RH, formerly known as Restoration Hardware, at CityPlace West Palm Beach. This is the first RH store in Palm Beach County. It has two locations in Miami-Dade County.
This is only the 10th RH store nationwide in the “next generation gallery” format.
The four-story building at 560 Okeechobee Boulevard offers more than furniture. It has a rooftop restaurant, wine vault and barista bar by RH Hospitality founding President Brendan Sodikoff. The building was designed by architect architect James Gillam of Backen, Gillam & Kroeger.
His design includes a 14-foot- high waterfall and a 70-by- 140-foot installation by artist Renta that imitates ancient text. “RH West Palm reflects our quest to revolutionize physical retailing, blurring the lines between residential and retail, indoors and outdoors, home and hospitality, seamlessly integrating food, wine, art, and design,” said RH Chairman & CEO Gary Friedman. “It’s an experience that activates all of the senses and cannot be replicated online.”
For Corte Madera, California-based RH (NYSE: RH), this gives them a luxury furniture store near some of the most wealthy zip codes in the country.
RH’s West Palm Beach gallery includes all of the retailer’s product lines, including interior design, outdoors, baby and child, teen, and hospitality. If visitors aren’t in need of furniture, they could also have a meal or a glass of wine under the shade of olive trees. New York-based Related Cos., the owner of CityPlace West Palm Beach, was the developer and leased the building to RH.
