Take Steps West Palm Beach
Take Steps West Palm Beach is an event that raises money for the Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation. On Saturday, November 3rd, they have an event where you can walk to support this foundation. Over 1.6 million Americans are affected by Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis, and this event will raise money for this great foundation.
The event will include a festival and breakfast at 10 am a walk at 11:15 am, and an awards presentation at 12:00 pm on November 3rd. If you would like to register for this event or learn more about it, you can do so here.
Every Wednesday is a Wellness Wednesday at CityPlace. Wellness Wednesdays are when we bring you a fun workout or other wellness experience. This month, we have four different fitness classes you can try out during Wellness Wednesday. Learn more about them below.
- Yoga by Shelly – On November 7th, you can enjoy a vinyasa flow with Shelly Saunier. She will help you strengthen your body during this class from 6:30 to 7:30. This yoga class is free, but you do have to bring your own
- CrossFit Squad – On November 14th at 6:30 pm, you can get your CrossFit on with Derek Bishop and the CrossFit Squad. This workout class will include exercises like squats, lunges, burpees, and pushups.
- TM Bootcamp – On November 21st, you can attend a fun, fat-burning workout. Erika Strimer of Total Movement will be leading your Wellness Wednesday workout starting at 6:30.
- Fitness Hub – On the final Wednesday of the month, November 28th, you can experience a Fitness Hub workout. This workout will be a Zumba class.
Wellness Wednesdays offer you a great chance to try different kinds of workouts. Be sure to check out the four different classes we have for you this month.
Yoga Glow in Support of Food for Families
If you want to get fit and support a great cause at the same time, you can be a part of the Yoga Glow in support of Food for Families. Jennifer Martin will lead you in a 75-minute vinyasa yoga class with glow wireless headsets playing music by DJ Adam Lipson. This event is taking place Thursday, November 15th. The yoga class will take place from 7 pm to 8:15 pm, but check-in for this event is at 6:30 pm.
However, this event will be more than just a workout. It is also an opportunity to take part in a canned food drive. Attendance for this event is limited but is free if you bring five non-perishable items to donate to Food for Families. Food for Families is a food drive organized by WPTV NewsChannel 5. The goal of this canned food drive is to help those less fortunate in time for Thanksgiving. If you want to participate in this event, be sure to bring your non-perishable food items for Food for Families. The person who brings the most food items will win a $150 Athleta shopping card.
Zumba for PeruKidz
Another way to support a good cause while working out is the Zumba for PeruKidz event. This event is a Zumba class that is raising money for a non-profit, called Bringing Hope, that helps needy children and families in Peru. Bringing Hope helps poor and disadvantaged families by providing meals to children, participating in housing projects, and fundraising for Christmas gifts for kids.
Last year, Zumba for PeruKidz raised enough money to provide a meal and a Christmas present to over 900 children in Peru. If you would like to be a part of the event this year, it is happening on December 8th from 9 am to 11:30 am at CityPlace.
