Plant Drawing Workshop with New Wave Artist-in-Residence Joiri Minaya

Join Rosemary Square and New Wave for an outdoor drawing workshop with current New Wave artist-in-residence Joriri Minaya.

Participants will draw plants from around Rosemary Square, discussing topics like shape, color, and size of plant elements such as leaves and flowers, as well as what plants can be recognized and named, which species are native vs. introduced, wild vs cultivated.

The artist will also lead discussions on the social constructions of landscape and the genre of scientific illustrations, questioning their ideas of objectivity, analysis, and scrutiny, while proposing alternative modes of representation and ways of seeing.
